Introducing the Cubitus: Patek Philippe’s New Luxury Sports Watches

Patek Philippe has unveiled the Cubitus, its first new collection in 25 years. This highly anticipated luxury sports lineup introduces three innovative models, marking a pivotal moment in the brand’s storied history. The collection’s highlights include two refined time-and-date models—one in sleek stainless steel, the other in an eye-catching two-tone design—alongside a technically advanced platinum timepiece featuring an instantaneous large date, weekday indication, and moon phase display.

The Cubitus models seamlessly blend classic Patek Philippe craftsmanship with a fresh, contemporary aesthetic. The release includes:

  • Ref. 5812/1A-001: A stainless steel time-and-date model with a vibrant green dial.
  • Ref. 5822P-001: The technical centerpiece in platinum, with an instantaneous large date, weekday, and moon phase display on a deep blue dial.
  • Ref. 5812/1AR-001: A two-tone version combining stainless steel and rose gold, complete with a blue dial.

All models feature a distinct, ultra-thin square case measuring 45mm diagonally, water-resistant to 30 meters. The slim profile—8.3mm for the time-and-date models and 9.6mm for the more complicated piece—ensures these watches are as elegant as they are sporty, embodying Patek Philippe’s attention to detail.

The signature octagonal design, achieved by rounding the corners of the square case, provides visual intrigue. Meticulously finished with a mix of satin-brushed and polished surfaces, each case undergoes 55 manual operations, a testament to Patek Philippe’s craftsmanship. The integrated metal bracelet mirrors this intricate finishing with alternating brushed and polished links.

In a nod to Patek Philippe’s renowned Nautilus and Aquanaut lines, the Cubitus dials feature horizontal relief embossing, playing with light to accentuate the design’s athletic yet refined character. This decorative motif extends to the rotor and mini-rotor of the watch’s movement, underscoring the brand’s cohesive design ethos.
